Manchester City talismanic midfielder Kevin De Bruyne could be joining the list of top European footballers plying their trade in the Saudi Pro League, MySportDab reports.

The 32-year-old, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano, confirmed he could leave to Saudi Arabia as he draws close to the twilights of his career.

De Bruyne candidly admitted he is seriously considering his future and could be tempted to move to the Saudi Pro League due to their humongous wage offers for players.

According to him, he can literally earn enough in less time playing in Saudi than what he could earn playing in Europe, hence may not resist offers that could be coming from the Gulf state.

“Saudi? At my age you have to be open to everything”.

“You’re talking about incredible amounts of money in the last stage of my career, you have to think about that”.

“For my wife, an exotic adventure is okay. I have to think about my future.”

“If I play in Saudi for two years, I’ll be able to earn an incredible amount…”.

“Before that, I had to play football for 15 years and I may not even reach that amount yet”.

“You have to think about what that could mean next”, he said.

It was not a glowing campaign for the Belgian in the Premier League in the just-concluded campaign. The Belgian was sidelined for over half of the game with a hamstring Injury.

He made 18 Premier League appearances for the club, scoring 4 goals with 10 assists – a stark contrast to his 2022-23 tally.

Despite the injury, it was largely an impressive individual campaign but one not measuring up to his past dazzling feats. Thrice, he would cut a frustrated figure walking off the field, when he was subbed off by Pep Guardiola for a not-so-good match performance.

De Bruyne’s recent comment literally points to his possible exit from Manchester City soon. He has a year left on his contract and has been linked to a move to Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.
