European football’s governing body, UEFA, have confirmed they are aware of terror threats against this week’s UEFA Champions League matches, MySportDab reports.

In a press release addressing the terror alert, the body confirmed they have liaised with security agencies and stadium security experts to put all necessary security logistics in place to forestall attacks.

On rumors of possible postponement of slated fixtures due to the security alert, they confirmed none of the matches will be rescheduled, and they will go ahead as planned.

“UEFA is aware of alleged terrorist threats made towards this week’s UEFA Champions League matches and is closely liaising with the authorities at the respective venues. All matches are planned to go ahead as planned with appropriate security arrangements in place,” the UEFA statement reads.

According to Football.london, The Al Zaim Foundation, an Islamist organization responsible for spreading messages from the dreaded terrorist group, ISIS, had issued a daring and threatening message ahead of this week’s Champions League matches.

The message, which was circulated through posters, reads; ‘Kill them all” with the names of the four stadia hosting Champions League matches mentioned.

The message was seen as a concrete threat, sparking rumors the matches may have to be postponed and rescheduled to address the emerging security threats.

Now, UEFA have confirmed the matches will not be postponed as adequate security arrangements are on ground to ensure the safety of the fans and players.

Arsenal will host Bayern Munich at the Emirates Stadium while Manchester City will take on Real Madrid in Santiago Bernabeu today.

On Wednesday, April 10, Atletico Madrid battle Borussia Dortmund while PSG will trade tackles with Barcelona.
