Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has revealed his stance on Mauricio Pochettino as he finally speaks on the Chelsea project, MySportDab reports.

The American investor in collaboration with Clearlake Capital forked out £4.25bn to buy Chelsea in 2022.

The change of hands in the club’s ownership was followed by a massive squad overhaul that saw former top players exit Stamford Bridge in droves.

Todd Boehly oversaw the emergence of a new dawn with the club spending over £1bn on transfers to onboard new young talents.

So far, it can be safely said Chelsea have not lived up to the billing after the huge transfer outlay.

The team has gone under different managers with Mauricio Pochettino the fourth man in charge of the club since the onset of the Todd Boehly era.

The former PSG boss joined the London outfit as manager, signing a two-year contract till 2025. Poch is not doing badly on the job but the benchmarks are still wanting.

The team is on the brink of not qualifying for Europe next season, sitting 11th on the Premier League table with 41 points after 28 games.

They reached the final of the 2023/24 EFL Cup final where they lost to Liverpool. Despite the EFL Cup heartbreak, the Blues’ hope of silverware this season is intact. They are in the FA Cup semifinal where they will take on Manchester City.

Despite the promising milestones attained by Pochettino, there are still rumors he could be sacked at the end of the season as the club continues to struggle with inconsistent results at the domestic.

Now, Todd Boehly has broken his silence on the state of the Chelsea project and the future of Mauricio Pochettino.

In a quote shared by Fabrizio Romano, Todd Boehly insisted Chelsea need time to play as a team with the bunch of talents at the team’s disposal.

“We just need to let the process develop and give our squad the time to go from being unbelievable individual players with great skills to fold into a team”.

“We just have to continue to stay the course”, told Forbes.

Boehly’s comment can be seen as a vote of confidence on Mauricio Pochettino amidst reports he could be sacked at the end of the season.

After the disappointing 2-2 draw against Burnley at Stamford Bridge, Mauricio Pochettino will hope to return the team to winning ways in their next match against Manchester United on Thursday.
