Manchester United’s new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has addressed Manchester United fans on the state of the United project and the continued changes he has effected on the club since completing his takeover, MySportDab reports.

Specifically addressing the yearning of the fans for change, the UK billionaire investor and petrochemical guru asked for patience from the fans as he continued with his transformational agenda with the club.

In a quote shared by Fabrizio Romano, the INEOS supremo revealed the journey to return United to its glory days will not be a like light switch but a process that will take time.

“The fans are impatient, I have some sympathy with that. But it’s a journey, whether they like it or not they have to be a bit patient”.

“It’s not a light switch, you can’t just turn it around like that.”

After completing his £1.32bn partial takeover of the club, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been head-on with his plan to overhaul Manchester United’s sporting and footballing operations.

He gave shape to his clearout plan by bringing on board former Manchester City CEO Omar Berrada as the club’s new CEO and has also signed a new technical director – Jason Wilcox – from Southampton.

MySportDab understands the die-hard Man United fan and football enthusiast is also following up his move for Dan Ashworth as the club’s football director-elect.

So far, the 72-year-old has demonstrated utmost zeal to rewrite the narrative at Old Trafford as shown in his immediate swing to action after his partial ownership bid was ratified.

Interestingly, Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Man United takeover has coincided with another unsavory chapter in United’s long-running struggle to return to the top since Sir Alex Ferguson left in 2013.

The team have endured a difficult campaign under the watch of Dutch tactician Erik ten Hag and are on the brink of missing out on Champions League football next season.

United fans have been clamoring for improved results which is not forthcoming, and there have been speculations on Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s relationship with Erik ten Hag as he continues his overhaul.

As per his restructuring at Old Trafford, Sir Jim has asked the fans to be patient However, it is yet to be determined whether his plea for patience from the fans means keeping Erik ten Hag as United manager next season.
