Premier League clubs have reportedly begun milling around Mason Greenwood for a move as Manchester United close in on a decision on the player, MySportDab reports.

The 23-year-old has two months left on his short-term loan deal with Getafe and will be due back to United soon.

Greenwood had his career stalled after he was arrested and prosecuted in 2022 following allegations of rape, assault, and sexual abuse.

However, the Crown Prosecuting Council decided to drop charges against the embattled young footballer after key witnesses withdrew from the case.

The Sun reported United were ready to integrate Greenwood back to the squad after the dropped charges but a barrage of negative reactions from fans’ quarters forced the club to make a U-turn.

Under former CEO, Richard Arnold, United opted to have Greenwood resettle for a career restart away from Old  Trafford despite clearing the youngster from the allegations following an internal inquiry into the incident.

At Getafe, it hasn’t been a groundbreaking career restart for the youngster after his 18-month exile but the stats and numbers have been promising.

In 25 LaLiga appearances, Greenwood has recorded 11 goal contributions of 6 goals and 5 assists, capped with flashes of his individual brilliance.

Overall, it has been an impressive loan shift with Getafe for Greenwood. The Madrid-based outfit are reportedly ready to extend his loan deal amidst competition from other LaLiga clubs for his services.

Now, according to Daily Mail, Premier League clubs are set to enter the race for Mason Greenwood following his roaring return to action.

Meanwhile, Man United’s decision on Greenwood’s future will determine the player: ‘s next destination with the club yet to pass an official verdict.

New co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe hinted at Greenwood’s possible return to United when he said the club is ready to re-examine the club’s position on the player.

However, sources close to the club have revealed United are more likely to part ways with Mason Greenwood in the summer and are ready to sanction an outright sale.
