Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has fired point-blank shots on Manchester United critics, MySportDab reports.

Far from his upbeat start at the dugout at Old Trafford last season, Erik ten Hag is enduring a nightmare run as United manager this season.

The Red Devils, struggling with spates of inconsistent performances, have drifted far from the top-four race and have tanked hopes of Champions League football next season.

Also, they could end the season without a trophy if they fail to edge out Coventry and Manchester City in the FA Cup.

The team has been under heavy scrutiny by fans and pundits alike for their amorphous and patternless style of play that has apparently impacted their chances this season.

However, Ten Hag has begged to differ from the critics, insisting the club’s misfortunes is not a result of a tactical blunder.

According to him, a piling injury crisis that has limited him from choosing his best squad for games has contributed to the nightmare.

Speaking ahead of United’s FA Cup semifinal match against Coventry City, Ten Hag said;

“The critics don’t concern me. What concerns me is only having a full squad to choose from once in 18 months.

“Injuries are normal in football but not as many as we’ve had in crucial positions. That’s my truth – others can see it differently but I can’t put any energy into that. I have to see it realistically and rationally,” he added.

Despite the respite of a possible FA Cup trophy, Erik ten Hag’s future at Manchester United is still uncertain with Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s sweeping changes at the club.

While the team has struggled with an unprecedented injury load, it is believed the Dutch has done little to manage the crisis as their rivals.

According to The Mirror, Ten Hag is ready to leave his role as Manchester United manager in the summer if Sir Jim Ratcliffe loses confidence in him.

He has over a year left on his Manchester United contract but could be shown the exit door at the end of the season due to the club’s less-than-stellar campaign this season.
