It was not the best night for Cristiano Ronaldo and his Al-Nassr minions as the Riyadh-based outfit were knocked out of the AFC Champions League by a United Arab Emirates club, Al-Ain, MySportDab reports
More heartbreaking was Cristiano Ronaldo’s insane miss in the crucial minutes of the game.
Al-Nassr had gone into the game on the back of a one-goal deficit, having settled for a 1-0 defeat in the first leg.
They needed a win by a two-goal margin to qualify for the last four of the competition.
Al-Nassr were trailing Al-Ain when Cristiano Ronaldo came across a good chance to draw the game level.
Al-Ain goalkeeper had parried a shot directly on Cristiano Ronaldo’s path. The Portuguese star just had himself, the ball, and an empty net to stroke in the ball.
Surprisingly, his right-footed low shot rolled away from the mouth of the gaping goal. It was an incredible miss and one that proved costly to Al-Nassr in the course of the game.
Al-Nassr did fight back to an insane seven-goal thriller win as the game ended 4-3 in regulation time. However, their one-goal deficit in the first leg forced it into penalties.

During the shootout, Al-Nassr lost to the United Arab Emirates outfit to crash out of the competition.
The loss has seen Cristiano Ronaldo close in on what could be a trophyless season with Al-Nassr in his second season with the club.
The club have been knocked out of all major competitions this season and are also miles away from the Saudi Pro League leaders Al-Hilal.
Chances are Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to end the season trophyless with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.
However, the Manchester United legend has been a standout performer for Al-Nassr in the midst of the less-than-stellar campaign.
He is leading the Saudi Pro League top scorers chart with 22 goals in 21 games combined with 9 assists. He also has recorded 6 AFC Champions League goals with 2 assists.
