Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes clashed with center-referee Michael Olivier after Manchester United’s shocking Premier League defeat to Fulham at Old Trafford, MySportDab reports.

The Red Devils suffered a shock 2-1 defeat against Fulham at home, ending their 7-match unbeaten streak.

Nigeria internationals Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi, overcame their 2023 AFCON final heartbreak, to score the two goals that handed the Cottagers a first Premier League victory at Old Trafford after in 19 years.

Bruno FernandesThe first half ended goalless but it was just a matter of time before an effervescent Fulham put the Red Devils to the sword.

Calvin Bassey opened the scoring for the away side in the 65th minute after he latched on Castagne’s corner kick to fire Fulham into the lead.

Manchester United left it late to peg back the visitors. Harry Maguire scored his second goal for Manchester United this season after he was left unmarked in Fulham’s box to rifle Bern Leno’s rebound into the roof of the net.

The two sides edged close to sharing spoils before United were caught out on a counter spearheaded by substitute Adam Traore.

The heavily built attacker broke on a run down the right, beating Harry Maguire with his speed before finding Alex Iwobi, who scored just at the last kick of the ball to return Fulham to the lead.

Iwobi’s goal was enough to condemn Manchester United to a shock defeat at home with United players disillusioned at the blast of the final whistle.

Bruno Fernandes was apparently furious with the officiating during the match. In footage available at the end of this post, Fernandes walked up to center-referee Michael Olivier after the final whistle, confronted him, and vented his displeasure.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag and other United players could be seen serenading Olivier but calm was restored with Fernandes led away after the fallout.

The defeat has seen United fall short of the momentum to keep pace on the Premier League top-four race. They are sixth on the table, 3 points behind Tottenham Hotspur, who have a game in hand, and 8 points behind Aston Villa in 4th place.
