Nottingham Forest Appoints Nuno Espirito Santo As New Manager

Former Wolves and Tottenham H otspur manager Nuno Espirito Santo is now the new manager of Nottingham Forest, MySportDab reports.

Nottingham Forest have confirmed the appointment of the Saudi Pro League winner as new manager following the sack of Steve Cooper.

Steve Cooper was relieved of his role as Nottingham Forest manager following a run of only one win in 13 matches.

He managed only a point from his last six matches awith five defeats, including a heavy 5-0 loss to Fulham.

Despite his soaring popularity with Nottingham Forest fans, Steve Cooper was sacked by the club’s owner Evangelo Marinakis as the club edged towards the drop zone.

Nuno Espirito Santo led the list of options to replace Cooper, and has now been confirmed as manager of the of the club.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s appointment marked his return to the Premier League after spells with Wolves and Tottenham Hotspur.

According to reports, the Portuguese tactician has signed a two-and-half-year contract with Nottingham Forest.

He will be expected to return the club to winning ways  as he sets out for his third spell in the Premier League as manager.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s last stop as manager was with Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia where he won the Saudi Pro League title last season.

He was recently sacked from the Jeddah-based club following a series of poor results early this season.

Nottingham Forest currently sits 17th on the Premier League table with 14 points, five points away from relegation.

Nuno Espirito Santo has been tasked to reverse the club’s dwindling Premier League fortunes.
