Barcelona, Arsenal, Juventus, Others Miss From UEFA Top 10 Best Clubs [See Full Rankings]

UEFA have released the full list of 98 best clubs in Europe in the past five years, ranked based on their UEFA coefficients with a lot of surprises and changes, MySportDab reports.

Here, we will take a look at the top 10 best teams as ranked by the European football governing body.

Some big teams are surprisingly missing from the best 10 clubs with the likes of Barcelona, Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, Atletico Madrid dropping off the chart.

Manchester City are ranked as the best team in Europe in the past five years. City’s emergence as the best club in Europe since 2018 is not a surprise.

The Manchester club have maintained a consistent presence in UEFA Champions League, and have always qualified to the next round of the competition in the past five years.

Manchester City garners a UEFA coefficient of 141 points, 5 points better than Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich who are second with 136 points.

Real Madrid come third with 123 points followed by French champions PSG who have garnered a total of 108 points.

2018 Champions League winners Liverpool are fifth on the standings with a UEFA coefficient of 107 points, a point less than PSG.

Serie A has only two representative in the top 10. Inter are sixth on the log with a coefficient of 99. They are followed by the second Bundesliga club on the top 10 RB Leipzig with 96 points.

Chelsea are ranked higher than Manchester United as they sit 8th on the standings with 96 points, 4 points better than Manchester United in the 9th position.

Roma round up the top 10 with 91 point. Premier League have the most number of clubs in the top 10 with Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Man United making the cut.

Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Sevilla, Juventus, and Arsenal are all ranked outside the top 10.

UEFA coefficient points are calculated based on teams’ performance in UEFA Club competitions in the last five years.

4 points are awarded to teams that qualify for Champions League while 2 points are awarded for each win in the group stage, and one point for a draw.

Additional 4 points are awarded for qualifying for knockout while a point is for awarded  for progressing to each the last eight, last four, and the final of the competition.

Same points system are applied on Europa League and Conference League but with lesser value.
