Manchester United finally laid to rest one of the club’s legendary and influential figure Bobby Charlton, MySportDab reports.

Bobby Charlton died in October 2023 at the age of 86 sending shock waves across England, Manchester United supporters groups, including football lovers around the world.

He was one of the most revered figures with a searing influence at Manchester United due to his legendary and heroic playing career with club and country.

Bobby Charlton was among the Three Lions squad that won 1966 World Cup and has been an icon of English football.

His burial was conducted with equal grandeur and prestige with Man United legends and players, including lovers of English football all trooping to Manchester Cathedral to pay last respect to the football icon.

The funeral was conducted in Manchester United Stadium with fans donning the club’s colours, scarfs, shirts, shocks, and other United regalia to honour the football legend.

Before Bobby Charlton’s funeral cotege arrived at Old Trafford, fans had already thronged into the stadium in their large numbers to witness the event.

There were also the presence of high-profile Manchester United legends such as Sir Alex Ferguson, Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney, and other former players.

Leading the list of Man United players who were present at the event were former captain Harry Maguire, including Bruno Fernandes and other Man United players.

Former Man United goalkeeper, Peter Schmeichel was also in attendance including Man United midfield legend Paul Scholes.

Bobby Charlton played for 14 years for Manchester United from 1962 to 1976 and scored 249 goals, winning several trophies including 1999 Champions League.

He also starred for England national team, winning the 1966 World Cup with the Three Lions.
