Manchester United Sign Sergio Reguilon

Manchester United have signed prolific Tottenham left-back, Sergio Reguilon on loan from the London club, MySportDab reports.

The Red Devils made a shock transfer swoop for Reguilon late in the transfer window as they continue their search for a left-back to stand in for Luke Shaw, who is set to be sidelined for months.

 

Manchester United were previously on the chase of Marc Cucurella as a top choice successor to replace Luke Shaw.

However, the move suffered setbacks after Manchester United opened talks for the player.

MySportDab understand Manchester United wanted a clause in Marc Cucurella loan deal that will allow the club to terminate to the loan agreement in January.

The request was reportedly turned down by Chelsea, who wanted a full season-long loan deal for Cucurella.

Due to the setback, United made the shock switch for Sergio Reguilon late in the transfer window.

Contacts with Tottenham for the player was confirmed with Tottenham ready to let Sergio Reguilon leave on loan.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have reached agreement with Tottenham to complete the signing of Serge Reguilon with the player set to undergo his medical and sign loan contract as a new Manchester United player on loan.

Serge Reguilon is Manchester United’s first loan signing this summer with the club still pursuing a move for Sofyan Amrabat to be completed before the close to the transfer window.

Talks are ongoing between Fiorentina and Manchester United for Sofyan Amrabat with the Red Devils more likely to seal a deal for the player as soon as possible before the transfer window closes.
