Arsenal captain, Martin Odegaard, has penned down a new deal with Arsenal to extend his stay with the Premier League high-flyers, MySportDab reports.

The Norwegian midfield sensation has signed a new contract till 2028 with Arsenal.

Reacting to his new deal with the club, Martin Odegaard described his decision to pen a new deal with Arsenal as ‘no-brainer decision,’ given the bright prospects of the team under Mikel Arteta’s watch.

Odegaard lauded Mikel Arteta’s tactical plan and handling of the squad and added it was not a big deal for him to decide to extend his deal with the Gunners with the bunch of young and prolific talents that is in the squad.

It was evident, Martin Odegaard will renew his Arsenal deal as he has been a key part of the squad since joining in 2021.

Martin Odegaard was an out-of-favor player at Real Madrid before he finally switched to the Premier League, pitting tents with the Gunners.

While at Real Madrid, he was sent on four different loan spells to different clubs with Arsenal being the last club he played as a loanee from Real Madrid.

Odegaard joined the Gunners in 2021 and impressed on his loan debut before Mikel Arteta decided to sign him on a permanent deal.

Since joining the club, he has made 74 Premier League appearances, scoring 24 goals.

Martin Odegaard was key to Arsenal’s challenge for Premier League title last season, starting all matches.

He is key to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal lineup and has again begun this season on a brilliant note, helping Arsenal to four wins and a draw in their first five matches in the season.

Odegaard joins the likes of William Saliba and Bukayo Saka, who have recently penned down new contracts with Arsenal.
