Spanish FA have released bombshell footage related to the alleged sexism scandal involving their leader, Luis Rubiales,. MySportDab reports
Luis Rubiales stoked controversies when he grabbed Spanish footballer, Hermoso, 33, and gave her a kiss during the medal ceremony in the just-concluded 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Since the footage of the incident surfaced, Luis Rubiales has been under heavy backlash by local and global football supporters, accusing him of a grim and disgraceful display.
There were reports he was going to resign in an emergency Spanish Football Federation general assembly meeting but Luis Rubiales shocked his critics and re-emphasized he will not resign because he has been wrongly targeted.
Rubiales maintained Hermoso consented to the kiss after he had asked for little perk.
According to reports, some members of Spanish FA are strongly in support of Luis Rubiales and had applauded his decision not to resign at the emergency general assembly meeting.
After Luis Rubiales refused to resign, Hermoso blasted him in an official social media statement for lying as she did not consent to the kiss.
Hermoso also revealed in the statement that the Spanish FA have made attempts to get in contract with her and have her make a statement in support of Luis Rubiales – a move she has turned down.
Amid the seething row between Spanish FA, Luis Rubiales, and Hermoso, FIFA waded in and suspended Luis Rubiales temporarily for three months to aid investigations into the brewing saga.
FIFA also asked Spanish FA to stop making attempts to contact Hermoso as investigations progresses.
After a seeming failure to get on Hermoso amid the clampdown by FIFA, Spanish FA have released a four-photo footage of the kiss incident (available at the end of this post)
They threatened to take legal action on Hermoso while claiming she lied about the kiss incident.
Their statement defending Luis Rubiales was followed with the four footage which shows Hermoso lifting Luis Rubiales up to show that she consented to the kiss before it happened.
