OFFICIAL! Chelsea Unveil New Signing Djordje Petrovic [Video]

Chelsea have announced the signing of Djordje Petrovic from New England Revolution in the MLS, MySportDab reports.

The Premier League giants took to their social media handle to officially announce the signing of the player with an official statement confirming the youngster as a new Chelsea player.

 

Djordje Petrovic joins Chelsea as the club’s 10th signing this summer joining the likes of Angelo Gabriel and Deivid Washington from Santos, the club’s 9th addition.

Also on Chelsea’s list of new additions this summer are Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig, Lesley Ugochukwu from Rennes, Axel Disasi from Monaco, Romeo Lavia from. Southampton, Robert Sanchez and Moises Caicedo from Brighton.

Djordje Petrovic, 23, plays as a goalkeeper formerly for MLS side New England Revolution and for Sebia national team.

He joined New England Revolution from Serbian top side Cukaricki, where he started his professional football career.

He made his debut for Serbia senior side in 2022 and has made two appearances for the club.

Petrovic joins Chelsea as the club’s second goalkeeper signing out of the 10 new players added to the squad.

Following the exit of Kepa Arrizabalaga on a season long loan deal to Real Madrid, Djordje Petrovic will be expected to back up Robert Sanchez who is now the club’s first choice goalkeeper.

Petrovic joins Chelsea on a seven-year contract till 2030 on a £14m transfer fee. He reportedly pushed for a move to the club after interests were reported from top Premier League clubs including Manchester United.

French Ligue 1 side Nantes were also on the trail of Petrovic including Nottingham Forest before Chelsea stepped up their pursuit and signed the young goalkeeper.
