Spain have defeated England by a loan goal to win 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, MySportDab reports.
First Half ReportÂ
Spain started the game on the front foot, dominating proceedings as they looked set to land the first punch.
England also made attempts to stay in control and launch attacks but were overwhelmed by a more clinical Spanish side.
Both sides made attempts on goal, trying to take the lead but it was Spain who got the better of the European champions.
With over 60% of the possession and numerous attempts on target, Spain finally took the lead in the 29th minute.
Carmona Garcia put Spain ahead with a great strike as the Spaniards close in on the much-coveted Women’s World Cup trophy.
England ramped up attempts to find an equaliser after Carmona’s strike but could not make anything.
The first half ended with Lionesses trailing the Spaniard by the lone goal.
Second Half Report
England put up a more impressive performance in the second half of the game as they tried to get back to their toes.
The La Roja held on to the lead and were still maintaining a more dominant display when with the ball.
England depended on counter attacks to offset Spain’s dominance with possession and recorded an early attempt on goal
Spain still maintained the lead with the hour mark crossed but England were growingly building their presence into the game and wielding more possession.
The match continued with both sides unable to break the goal deadlock in the second half with the Spaniards closing in.
Spain had a golden chance to double the lead in the 70th minute after England conceded a spotkick but England goalkeeper pulled a stunning save to deny the Spaniards a second goal that would have probably seal the win
England made more push for an equaliser but could not make it happen as the match finally ended with Spain winning by a lone goal to clinch the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup
