FIFAWWC: England 0-0 Nigeria, Falcons Crash Out Via Penalty (VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS)

The Super Falcons crashed out on penalties 4-2 against England after playing 0-0 at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, MySportDab reports.

The Lionesses saw Lauren James being sent off in the second half of the match after stepping on a player.

The Lionesses were able to make it through from the penalty spot which was an easy and collective one from them.

Match Report 

Both teams came out strong in the first half which saw them putting together some wonderful display.

England dominated things pushing forward as they wanted to take an early lead which wasn’t allowed by any means possible.

Nigeria had back to back opportunities which came from Ashley Plumptre which her first strike hit the woodwork and the second saved by Mary Earps.

It was a strong first half which saw the Lionesses also creating some opportunities which Chiamaka Nnadozie was able to save neatly.

Nothing else could separate them as the first half ended with England 0-0 Nigeria after a heated 45 minutes which nothing came through.

The second half was also another one which was filled with so many talking points but still no goal came from them.

Nigeria came into the second half with more assurance and hope of making something more happen knowing they stood an equal chance.

It was easy either as England were too good of an opponent as they came close on so many occasions but couldn’t make anything happen for themselves.

The game carried on with more opportunities to score but both sides were just unable to make that final push which could have made things different early.

Lauren James was showed a red card after VAR caught her stepping on Michelle Alozie which was her yellow turned around and she left the match.

The game continued with a lot more coming to play but no goal could separate them as they ended the 90 minutes with a goalless scoreline.

The Super Falcons of Nigeria gave it all their best coming into the extra time which they came close on a couple of occasions to make a goal happen.

The Lionesses had their moment in the game but they were stopped on every of them attempts going forward on goal as things ended goalless heading to penalties.

Desire Oparanoze and Michelle Alozie both missed their penalties as England make it through into the quarterfinals of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 4-2 after a goalless draw.
