Arsenal have tabled their first bid for David Raya after reaching an agreement for the Spanish goalkeeper, MySportDab reports.

The Gunners who are looking to add Raya to their goalkeeper list have already secured agreement with the highly-rated shotstopper on personal terms.

Raya has a year left on his Brentford contract and will leave on a free transfer next summer with not new deal in place.

MySportDab understand Brentford are ready to part ways with David Raya but are asking for a £40m price tag for the player.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal have tabled their first offer for David Raya in the region of £20m as transfer free.

The Gunners are also ready to fork out £3m as add-ons for the player, taking their total first bid to £23m.

The offer is way short of Brentford’s £40m asking price for the player and will likely be rejected.

However, Arsenal are expected to continue on the negotiations for David Raya despite facing the likelihood of having the first bid for the player rejected.

Brenford will have to be careful on David Raya as they risk losing him on a free transfer after next season.

Before reports emerged that Raya has reached personal agreement with Arsenal, sources close to the player revealed he has told Brentford he wants to leave the club and join Arsenal.

Hence, it it understood the Bees are more likely to peck down their £40m valuation of David Raya to reach a deal with Arsenal.

David Raya helped Brentford secure promotion to the Premier League in 2021 and kept 12 clean sheets in the Premier League last summer.

Bayern Munich are also interested in the goalie but are yet to table an offer for the player.
