Lionel Messi scored a stunning freekick winner on his debut for Inter Miami, MySportDab reports.

The Barcelona legend, who joined the Florida-based MLS franchise on a free transfer from PSG hit a late winner as Inter Miami ran out 2-1 winners over Cruz Azul of Mexico.

It was a big moment for Lionel Messi as he become the first player in football to score a freekick goal on a debut appearance for a club.

Messi’s freekick goal also ended Inter Miami’s 13 matches winless run as they sailed to their first victory in months after struggling to return to winning ways.

Lionel Messi dis not start the game but was left on the bench before being brought on in the 56th minute and he turned the game the game around in a flash, sharpening Inter Miami’s attack and making for a more sleeky and efficient press.

Before his stunning freekick goal, the scoreline was 1-1 after Antuna canceled out Taylor’s first half strike after the hour mark.

The game dragged on with both sides unable to break the tie until the 90+4th minute stoppage-time freekick strike by Lionel Messi which separated the tie.

After Cruz Azul conceded the freekick, Lionel Messi effortlessly stroke the ball pass the wall into the roof of the net on the far left corner.

It was another brilliant outing for the Barcelona legend on his debut appearance as he help Inter Miami secured a 2-1 late win over Cruz Azul, ending the club:s winless run.
