Barcelona Confirm Signing Of Mikayil Faye

Barcelona have confirmed the signing of young Senegal center-back, Mikayil Faye, MySportDab reports.

Faye played for Croatian second division side NK Kustosija before he was scouted by Barcelona and prospected by Xavi Hernandez for a great career with the Catalans.

Faye has signed a four-year contract with the La Liga Champions which will see him stay at the club till 2027.

He will be groomed in Barcelona academy before being given the chance to make an appearance for the club

Barcelona have slammed a €400m release on Mikayil Faye contract.

A club statement by Barcelona, confirming the signing of Mikayil Faye reads;

“FC Barcelona and NK Kustosija Zagreb have reached an agreement for the transfer of player Mikayil Faye for the next four seasons, until June 30, 2027, with a release clause of 400 million euros”

Barcelona signed Faye for a reported fee of £4.3m after the youngster spent just half of the season with NK Kustosija.

He joined NK Kustosija from an indigenous club in Senegal Diambars FC and has made 14 appearances for the club, with one goal and an assist.

Mikayil Faye plays as a center-back and was a top shot for top clubs in Europe after a sterling outing with Senegal U-17 squad in FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2019.

Barcelona

Faye starred as Senegal qualified for the group stage and reach the last 16 of the tournament before crashing out.

Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund were among the clubs interested in signing Mikayil Faye with Barcelona leading the race.

Faye is expected to continue in his game as he joins Barcelona. He will play in Barcelona academy before breaking into the first team.
