It was a cagey affair as the first half began between the two sides.

Real Sociedad were the better side from the first half and gave nothing away in the second half as they pressed for an opening goal.

Real Madrid then ramped up attempts to find an equaliser but the hosts held on as the match winds down to the end.
It was another cringe display by Los Blancos. They struggled to dominate the game all to no avail as Real Sociedad continued to pose threats despite being in the lead.
Late in the second half, Real Madrid comeback hopes suffer a heavy blow as Real Sociedad hit their second goal in the 85th minute.
It was Barrenextea who doubled the lead to compound Real Madrid’s woes.
The match ended with Real Sociedad grabbing a deserved 2-0 win.
Real Madrid still sit second with 68 points on the LaLiga table but are 14 points away from Barcelona.
