Real Madrid have defeated Osasuna to win 2023 Copa Del Rey, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
Real Madrid dominated proceedings in the game from the start as they tried to find an early goal.
Just two minutes into the game, their effort yielded result with Rodrygo putting the Los Blancos ahead.
Rodrygo’s goal came from a beautiful footwork from Brazil pal Vincius Jr on the flanks who worked out a perfect assist to set up the goal.
Vinicius Jr beat off a challenge from two Osasuna defenders on the wings to cross the ball to Rodrygo who then slot home at the back post to give Real Madrid the lead.
The LaLiga champions still continue to dominate proceedings going forward after the early 1-0 lead but had to wrestle with Osasuna deadly counter attacks.
Forced back to their half by Real Madrid’s constant press, Osasuna relied on their wing backs to push up attacks and threaten Real Madrid defense.
Both sides came across some chances to add to the scoreline but failed as the first half ended with the narrow 1-0 lead by Real Madrid.
Second Half Report
The game took on a frantic pace as the second half kicked off with both sides trying to find a goal.
Osasuna were begining to emerge into the game after trailing by a lone in the first half.
They had more shots on target than Real Madrid but squandered them.
Real Madrid still dominated proceedings going forward but were vulnerable to Osasuna’s high press and counter attacks.
In the 58th minute, Lucas Torro netted the equaliser for Osasuna to bring the scoreline to 1-1 but Real Madrid return to the lead 12 minutes later with another goal from Rodrygo.
Osasuna made late efforts to salvage a draw and stretched the game to extra time but Real Madrid held on to win 2-1 after the final and emerge 2023 Copa Del Rey champions.
