Christian Eriksen is back to Manchester United training after almost three months on the sidelines, MySportDab reports.

The former Brentford star and Danish player picked up an excruciating ankle injury that ruled him out of action since January.

The midfielder was roughly tackled by former West Ham and Reading player Andy Carroll during Manchester United’s FA Cup win over Reading.

After the game, Christian Eriksen was spotted limping off Old Trafford in crutches.

It was confirmed he will be out of action for at least 12 weeks after an examination of the severity of the injury.

His initial return date was slated to be on April but Manchester United’s manager Erik Ten Hag refuted the claim, saying Christian Eriksen is set for an early return than predicted.

Now, it has been confirmed he has returned to first-team training with Manchester United today after the injury.

However, Erik Ten Hag has confirmed Christian Eriksen will not feature for the team on Wednesday’s Premier League clash against Brentford but the club is still monitoring his progress with his recovery.

“Christian Eriksen will not return for tomorrow’s game against Brentford but we are still looking at how he is progressing on his return,” Ten Hag said.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s return has also been confirmed after he missed the game against Newcastle due to illness.

Manchester United lost to Newcastle and fell out of the top-four to the fifth position after Tottenham drew Everton.

They have two matches outstanding and will have to win or draw Newcastle to return to the top four.
