BREAKING! Ivorien Footballer Confirmed Dead After Collapsing On Pitch!

An Ivorian footballer has been confirmed dead after he collapsed on the pitch during a live match, MySportDab reports.

It is another sad day for African football as a young promising footballer has died after collapsing on the pitch.

Incidents of players collapsing while playing for their clubs has been a recurring phenomenon with most cases always linked to sudden cardiac arrests.

The death of the youngster was confirmed by his club on the club’s official social media handle.

The footballer who is identified as Moustapha Sylla is said to have died at the prime age of 21.

Immediately after his collapse, his club medics rushed to give him treatment but he was not responding to the treatment.

He was then taken to the ambulance where he was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately died onboard the ambulance.

Sylla played for Racing Club of Abidjan in the Ivory Coast capital and his death was confirmed by the club President Logossina Cisse, who spoke to the AFP.

Sylla died featuring for his club RCA against SOL FC after the sudden collapse.

A statement by the club confirming his demise reads;

Mourning ⚫⚫

“Our defender Sylla Moustapha, died this evening after a discomfort on the ground during the RCA vs Sol FC match.

“Management sends sincere condolences to the Biological family

“Rest in peace Moustapha.

“Rest in peace LION.”

Sylla’s death is coming just months after he joined Racing Club from a Malian club Djoliba FC in September last year.

French Ligue 1 side Nice is among the clubs that have sent their condolences to Racing Club after the tragedic death.

Nice is said to have a partnership with Racing club and have received the news of the demise of Sylla with shock.
