The Red Devils were held to a goalless draw by Southampton at Old Trafford in another disappointing outing for Manchester United after Liverpool’s defeat.

The club has gone with two Premier League games without a win after settling for a barren draw against the hard-fighting saints.

After dropping points, the club suffered a double jeopardy with two big name players set to miss from the squad in their next game.

First, Casemiro saw his second red card in the Premier League after a stud-up challenge and will be suspended for four matches – a development that could have a significant bearing on Man United Premier League fortunes this season.

Manchester United is also set to lose fast-rising star Alejandro Garnacho to the sidelines after the 18-year-old was spotted leaving Old Trafford with the aid of crutches.

Alejandro Garnacho came on for Manchester United in the 73rd minute and picked up an ankle injury after a challenge with Kyle Walker-Peters.

After the challenge, Garnacho was subbed off as he limped off the pitch.

Erik Ten Hag has downplayed Garnacho’s injury, but the Man United medics are yet to confirm the extent of the damage.

An update on the injury situation is expected in the days to come.

Despite the draw, United are still third on the Premier League table with 50 points from 26 games.

Manchester United travels to Spain for the return leg of the Europa League round 16 clash against Real Betis in their next fixture.
