Al-Nassr boss Rudi Garcia has confirmed a shock change in Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract plan at Al-Nassr, MySportDab reports.

Cristiano Ronaldo entered a new phase in his football career after making a controversial move to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

The Portuguese star joined Al-Nassr as a free agent after Manchester United terminated his contract following his controversial interview with veteran journalist and friend Piers Morgan.

After what appeared to be a big dip in his football career, Cristiano Ronaldo made his debut in Saudi Arabia football, leading Riyadh All-Stars in an exhibition game against PSG at the King Fahd International Stadium.

The match pitted him against his old-time rival and Argentina international Lionel Messi.

Lionel Messi opened the scoring in the game, and Cristiano Ronaldo responded with the equaliser and later scored another to bag his brace in the game.

Although Ryadh All-Stars settled for a 4-5 defeat to the Ligue 1 giants, Cristiano Ronaldo offered hopes of a return to form with a sparkling performance.

However, after the exhibition match, Cristiano Ronaldo has blanked in two competitive matches for Al-Nassr, without an assist or a goal.

His last game against Al-Ittihad ended in a 3-1 defeat with Al-Nassr being bundled out of the Saudi Super Cup semi-final.

Ronaldo saw his hopes of moving a step closer to his first Al-Nassr trophy dashed following the defeat in the Super Cup and was partly blamed by Al-Nassr boss Rudi Garcia for missing a great chance that would have changed the direction of the game.

Speaking after the Super Cup loss to Al-Ittihad, Rudi Garcia confirms a shock change to Cristiano Ronaldo Al-Nassr’s contract plan.

There were reports Cristiano Ronaldo will likely finish his career at Al-Nassr and retire following the move to the Saudi outfit after the expiration of his two-and-a-half-year deal.

However, Rudi Garcia confirmed Cristiano Ronaldo will not retire at Al-Nassr. In his words;

“He [Cristiano Ronaldo] is one of the best players in the world. He will not finish his career at Al-Nassr, he will return to Europe.”

Rudi Garcia’s claim contradicts reports, including from ESPN, from earlier this month that the Portuguese star wanted to retire at the club – as suggested by the player himself.
