Manchester United have now open talks with Burnley to sign striker Wout Weghorst on loan, MySportDab reports.

The Holland international is currently away from Burnley on loan at Besiktas in Turkey.

However, that loan spell could end this January so he can play for Manchester United in the Premier League.

United have been considering various loan options due to fanancial restrictions this month.

The Red Devils have failed to get their players and most top choices are only keen on permanent moves over loans.

Weghorst is in good form with ten goals in 20 games for club and country this season.

In January 2022, the striker joined Burnley from Wolfsburg for £12m and played well in a 1-1 draw against United.

However, he struggled to impress at Burnley and scored just two scores as they got relegated.

Weghorst may not be the perfect options for fans but he could provide United with a different attacking options to the end of the season.

The player is disappointed with his performance in the Premier League last season and is keen to prove his worth.

Before his move to Burnley, he had a fantastic goalscoring record of 77 goals in 144 matches for Wolfsburg.

United are very restricted in this window as their owners looks to sell the club.

The Glazers’ decision also played a role in the club missing out on signing Cody Gakpo who later signed for Liverpool.

The Red Devils are determined for another attacking player after terminating Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract last month.
