Erling Haaland scored as Manchester City beat Liverpool 3-2 to qualify for the EFL Carabao Cup quarterfinals, MySportDab reports.
Manchester City didn’t have it easy despite Liverpool missing most of their key players after the conclusion of FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
First Half Report
The match started with a lot coming from the Blue side of the pitch which saw them pushing forward in numbers looking for a goal in the game.
It didn’t take Manchester City that long as Erling Haaland scored in the 10th minute of the game with an assist from Kevin De Bruyne who was able to make the scoreline 1-0.
The game continued with the Reds trying to make a comeback quick wasn’t looking likely against their opponent who were just ready to hold things down very well.
Fabio Carvalho made it 1-1 for Liverpool in the 20th minute which they were able to get the leveler after so much work put into a comeback which finally paid off for them.
The first half ended with both teams settling for a 1-1 draw while they headed inside for the break with so much coming from both teams all through.
Second Half Report
The second half was a different showdown which saw more goals coming from them as they needed the result.
Manchester City scored in the 47th minute of the game to make the scoreline 2-1 which came through Riyad Mahrez who was able to finish off neatly in the match.
It wasn’t looking good but the Reds responded with Mohamed Salah who net a goal in the 48th minute of the match making the scoreline level 2-2 as they continued.
Liverpool once again went down in the match as Nathan Ake scored in the 58th minute of the encounter which was able to make it 3-2 as they pushed on.
The match carried on with nothing else as everything came to an end with the Citizens claiming a 3-2 win which move them into the quarterfinals of the Carabao Cup.
