Lionel Messi was spotted leading a wild dressing room celebration after their win over Mexico in the World Cup, MySportDab reports.

A lot was at stake in the game after the Argentines stumbled to a shock 2-1 defeat to Saudi Arabia in the opening game.

Argentina needed to win their second game against Mexico if they were to stand a chance of making it to the next round of the competition.

It was nearly a nightmare as the first half ended goalless, with both sides unable to find the back of the net.

However, Argentina were the better side in the first half as they dominated play and created a series of chances.

Lionel Messi finally relieved the pressure after firing a long-range shot that crept into the net in the 64th minute.

Hernandez sealed the win for the Argentines in the 87th minute after doubling the lead.

After the victory, the players and team staff were spotted in wild dressing room celebrations.

In a viral video which is available at the end of this post, they were seen standing on the sides with arms raised, some still in kit and other in the process of getting changed, with a chant being sung around the changing room.

On the center stage of the celebrations was a bare-bodied and smiling Messi, joining the wild celebration.

Aston Villa’s goalkeeper Emi Martinez was also spotted in the video jumping on the center console in excitement. Other easily recognizable faces were Paulo Dybala and Nicolas Otamendi

The win was a great relief for the team as they escaped the embarrassment of an early World Cup exit after being deemed tournament favorites.

The team face Poland in their last group game and must not stumble to keep their round of 16 hopes intact.
