First Half

It was still 0-0 as the game neared the end of the first half; both sides countered the efforts of each other as the first half finally ended in a barren draw.

Second Half

Nothing really happened in the second half of the game as both sides filed into the pitch.

Despite the massive home support of the home fans, Liverpool still played second fiddle to Manchester City on ball possession.

City demonstrated absolute dominance for most of the second half, but were unable to score.

Erling Haaland has a rare chance of firing a low shot, which the Liverpool goalkeeper pointed out for a corner.

In a dramatic turn of events, Liverpool finally got a goal in the 76th minute, with Erling Haaland on the score sheet for the Reds.

The deadly Egyptian forward fired into the back of the net after an assist from Alisson to give the hosts a surprise lead.

Manchester City made frantic attempts to get an equaliser with few minutes remaining in the game, all to no avail.

The game ended Manchester City suffering their first defeat of the season in the hands of Liverpool.
