Barcelona’s President Joan Laoprta has revealed the next step after Barcelona’s shock Champions League exit, MySportDab reports.

Barcelona crashed out of the Champions League twice for the first time since the 1988-1989 football season.

The Catalan’s exit from this year’s Champions League was confirmed after Inter Milan cruised to an easy win over Viktoria Pizen at the San Siro.

The Serie A giants smashed Viktoria Pizen 4-0 to book their place in the knockout, joining Bayern Munich, the group winners.

Barcelona still had hopes of making it to the next round, but that depended on the match between Inter and Pizen.

The visitors needed to win or at least salvage a point at the San Siro to boost Barcelona’s chances of making it to the next round.

The reverse was the case, as Pizen suffered a heavy defeat dashing Barcelona’s round of 16 hopes.

Reacting to the early exit, Barcelona President Joan Laporta has revealed the next step for the team.

Laporta sent a message to Barcelona fans asking them to “look forward” as the team undergoes “the process of rebuilding.”

Joan Laporta added that “there would be ups and downs,” but urged the fans to “look forward.”

“We have to look forward. We knew that in this process of rebuilding the team, there would be ups and downs.”

“The message to the fans is, let’s look forward. Xavi also makes youngsters play so that they can grow.”

Barcelona crashed out of the 2022/23 Champions League alongside two other Spanish clubs – Atletico Madrid and Sevilla, with a game to spare.
