Cristiano Ronaldo has been injured in Portugal’s game against the Czech Republic in the UEFA Nations League, MySportDab reports

The 37-year-old Manchester United forward had blood coming out from the match, which was already swinging in favor of Portugal.

 

The injury was obviously serious as the 7 time Balon d’Or winner had to be attended to immediately by the medical staff.

Ronaldo had the bleeding nose immediately patched up and was later able to continue in the game in which Portugal were dominating.

Meanwhile, reactions have trailed the injury scene, with some netizens jokingly blaming Lionel Messi for the injury.

@kwame wrote, ‘this blood that is oozing from Ronaldo’s nose, I am suspecting Lionel Messi, hopes he recovers soon.”

Another fan, @preeti wrote, ‘”they are criticising Ronaldo with an injury like this for having a bad first half against Czech Republic.”

Meanwhile, Ronaldo was able to continue in the game after 2 minutes of being attended to by medical staff.

Ronaldo is Portugal’s highest goal-scorer and had made known his intention to continue playing for the national team even at 39.

Ronaldo’s statements came when he is currently struggling to pick form at Manchester United under Erik Ten Hag.

His decision to continue sparked criticisms from pundits who believe that age is no longer on his side wine his current poor form at Manchester United.
