Former Derby County coach Wayne Rooney is set to emerge as the new coach of DC United in Washing DC, MySportDab reports.

A development confirmed by Fabrizio, the former Manchester United and Everton player, will now be taking his managerial career to the MLS.

This is coming just weeks after Wayne Rooney quit his managerial role at Derby County in a dramatic fashion.

The former England international has been on the helm of affairs at Derby County, who were relegated to League One under his watch.

Derby County had been embroiled in financial and debt crises before Rooney tendered his resignation to the club.

MySportDab understands that former United striker decided to quit Derby County against the wish of the club’s management.

Derby County had a difficult season under Wayne Rooney. They finished 23rd on thr log, amassing 34 points.

When Rooney left the club, most of Derby County’s players were reportedly out of contract.

Meanwhile, days after his departure, his agent was under intense scrutiny and investigation by the FA for breaching rules of engagement.

Rooney’s agent had allegedly intervened to pay players and staff of Derby County due to the club’s financial crisis.

However, despite the dramatic Derby County exit and the aftermath of events,  Rooney is set to land a new job in MLS as manager.

According to Fabrizio Romano, an agreement is already in place for Wayne Rooney at DC United, and contracts are being prepared.

The former Man United and Everton player has played for DC United in 2018 and will now be joining them as a coach.

DC United is one on the top clubs in MLS with four MLS Cups and is one of the most successful clubs in America with other numerous trophies.
