Chelsea are still much in the race to land a move for Jules Kounde who is targeted by Barcelona, MySportDab reports.
Jules Kounde is currently being targeted by both Chelsea and Barcelona who are both in direct contract for the defender this summer.
The deal is one that has so much complication attached to it as the two sides have an equal chances of making something happen.
Chelsea were said to have reach verbal agreement with Sevilla for a move to happen in the coming days pending a medical.
Although, Barcelona came out trying to hijack the deal by making sure their offer was made immediately knowing they have been monitoring the situation.
Jules Kounde on his part held talks with both clubs who are looking to make a move happen for him this summer window.
An agreement for Chelsea who made a €55 million offer which was agreed by Sevilla seems to be an issue right now as Barcelona are trying to hijack the deal.
It won’t be the first deal the Spanish side have hijack this summer window with them doing the same with Raphinha who the Premier League side already reached an agreement with Leeds United.
The Brazilian ended up choosing Barcelona who later had to pay high to complete an agreement with the English Premier League club.
According to reports reaching us from Fabrizio Romano, he confirmed Chelsea have forward paperwork to ensure Jules Kounde is theirs this time.
Here Is What Was Said:
“Chelsea have sent paperworks to Sevilla for Koundé deal during the night, pushing to get it over the line.
“Details after bid on Wednesday: £55m deal, 5 year contract.
“Chelsea, still waiting for Sevilla’s final approval to avoid new attempts from Barcelona today.
Chelsea will be hoping to make Jules Kounde their third signing this summer after completing moves for Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly.
