Manchester United has opened direct talks with Frenkie de Jong over a possible move, MySportDab reports.
Frenkie de Jong has been seen as the perfect man for new manager Erik Ten Hag who is looking to work with the Netherlands player.
They both had an incredible time at Ajax before he left them for Barcelona who signed him on a record-breaking deal ending his spell in the Dutch League.
The manager is now hoping they will link up against Manchester United after being appointed as their new manager following Ralf Rangnick’s exit.
It won’t be an easy deal to complete as Barcelona want €80 million for any deal that will be made possible in the coming days or month of the transfer window.
He isn’t the only player on the list of possible transfers this summer as they will also be looking to bring Jurrien Timber from Ajax.
Donny van de Beek could finally see his Manchester United career revive once again knowing he could be working alongside Frenkie de Jong with the same manager who paired them in midfield.
