Manchester United Goalkeeper Dean Henderson is now close to leaving the club this summer, MySportDab reports.

Nottingham Forest have opened talks with Manchester United to sign Dean Henderson for the 2022-23 season.

The deal is expected to be for loan and then a buy option for £20m.

Henderson has already agreed personal terms to join the club promoted to the Premier League last season.

Forest have decided to sign Henderson after first choice goalkeeper Brice Samba confirmed that he wants to leave the club.

However, Henderson’s transfer to Forest will make it difficult for midfielder James Garner to return back Nottingham Forest on loan for next season.

In the Premier League, clubs are only allowed to one player on loan from the same club at the same time, but there are exceptions.

Henderson will leaving Old Trafford after barely playing last season.

He is currently second choice at United to David de Gea.

He played only three matches last season for the Red Devils in the Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup.

The 25-year-old has experience of playing for a newly-promoted club after playing for Sheffield United in the 2019-20 season on loan.

He kept 13 clean sheets in 36 EPL games as Sheffield United finished ninth.

He has only played once for the England national team and got included in the squad for Euro 2020 before suffering an injury.

Newcastle had previously shown interest in signing Henderson, but a move to Nottingham is now more likely.
