The Canadian Men’s National Team have went on strike and as a result called off a friendly match, MySportDab reports.
The team was expected to play Panama in their international friendly but had to call of the game due to the ensuing strike which took place on Sunday.
Canada’s first world cup appearance was in 1986 when they defeated Jamaica to make it to the World’s most prestigious football tournament.
MySportDab learns theat the team has had an unsettled dispute with the football governing body in Canada, the Canadian Soccer.

The team, who has qualified for the Qatar 2022 World Cup made their decision to go on the strike known in a letter communicated to the Canadian Soccer.
They accused the Canadian Soccer of disrespect connected to their bargain over the prize money of the World Cup campaign scheduled to take place later this year.
In the letter, the team agitated for a more equitable and fair share of the proceeds of the World Cup as they accuse the Canadian Soccer of trying to shortchange the team.
They also urged the body to ensure better payment to the Women’s national team up to a least 40 percent of the World Cup prize money.
Menwhile, BBC Football reported that there are conflicting reports about what the Canadian FA wants to pay the players.
MySportDab learns that the Canadian FA were considering a 10% payment for the men’s national team which amounted to $10 million.
However, the body was disputing the report saying that they were offering both the men and women team a combined sum of 60% to be divided equally between both teams.
They also stated that the demand of the Men’s nation team was hovering between 75 to 100% of the World Cup prize money which was not feasible.
