Liverpool came from behind to beat Southampton 1-2 to save their title hopes, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
Brilliant first half encounter from both teams who were able to make something happen going forward in the match.
It was a good start for the home side Southampton who made sure they setup was on point while they tried to shock the side who are gunning for League glory.
Liverpool were stunned in the 13th minute when Nathan Redmond scored a stunning giving the home side a 1-0 lead as the encounter was looking open.
It became an issue as that meant the Reds were out of it totally, but they didn’t just seat back but instead carried on pressing further until Takumi Minamino scored in the 27th minute to make it 1-1.
It continued in the first half with more opportunities which didn’t result in anything happening going forward as they both already got one goal each.
The first half ended with Southampton holding off Liverpool to a 1-1 scoreline after 45 minutes played between both of them.
Second Half Report
The came in the second half pushing to make something happen very early as it was looking good between them.
Liverpool were desperate knowing they needed a comeback to get themselves into the English Premier League title race which they were down in points.
Southampton were doing Manchester City a favor as the game continued with the 1-1 scoreline which was beginning to become an issue for Jurgen Klopp who wasn’t comfortable in the touchline.
Joel Matip gave the Reds the lead in the 67th minute of the encounter after an incredible finish which send the stadium wild as the scoreline turned 1-2.
That was how the game continued until it came to an end with Southampton 1-2 Liverpool giving the Reds all three points after 90 minutes played.
