Chelsea and Manchester United are taking their move seriously for Pau Torres, MySportDab reports.

Pau Torres is expected to leave Villarreal at the end of the season as he wants to play for a top football club.

His contribution to the Spanish side’s success this season has been incredible with them reaching the UEFA Champions League semi-final.

They will play Real Madrid which dealt with Manchester City to set up a Spanish and English showdown which will be happening later in France.

Villarreal being handled by former Paris Saint Germain and Arsenal manager Unai Emry has done well winning titles last campaign.

They carried their form into this season which saw them advancing from their group and going on in the Champions League.

Their heroics saw them beating Bayern Munich with Pau Torres putting out an outstanding performance in both legs.

The defender has been attracting more interest from England Manchester United and Chelsea are battling out to get his signature.

According to Fabrizio Romano, they confirmed the latest developments coming through concerning a move.

“Manchester United are discussing Villarreal’s Pau Torres as one of 3/4 options for the new center-back.

“No proposal made yet, as it depends on Erik ten Hag decision and Man Utd board changes.

“Chelsea are also monitoring Pau.
€55/60m release clause into his contract.

Thomas Tuchel and his side are having to deal with the fact that they will lose Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen who already signed elsewhere.

They are eyeing a move for the defender who incoming Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag wants at Old Trafford.

Pau Torres is expected to cost around €50 million for any club willing to sign him during the summer transfer window which is fast approaching.
