Manchester United fans threw plastic bottles at Diego Simeone after the UCL match on Tuesday night at Old Trafford, MySportDab reports..

The Atletico Madrid Coach was running down the tunnel at Old Trafford when the incident happened.

Atletico Madrid sent Manchester United out of the Champions League with a 1-0 win in the 2nd leg and 2-1 on aggregate thanks to a Renan Lodi goal.

At the end of the match, Simeone tried to run down the touchline to the dressing room.

However, angry Manchester United fans threw plastic bottles at the 51-year-old.

The Argentine Coach barely shakes hands after a match and just runs down the tunnel after the final whistle.

But, when running to the tunnel after Atletico’s win against United, the fans made their anger known.

Red Devils fans threw plastic water bottles on the pitch and some of the bottles hit Simeone when he passed as shown in the video at the end of this article.

Simeone did not react to the incident and just ran straight down the tunnel.

Speaking to reporters later, Simeone said he did not notice that bottles were being thrown at him.

He said: “When I ran off the pitch, I was very happy and went straight to the dressing room.”

“All that was on my mind, was getting to the dressing room because i was happy. So I don’t know anything about the fans.”
