Cristiano Ronaldo fires blank as Man United crashed out of Champions League 1-2 aggregate against Atletico Madrid, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
The first half of the encounter between both of the clubs wasn’t that cool for each of them as they had a different outcome after 45 minutes.
Man United did well enough to pressurize their opponent going forward in the attack which saw them creating numerous amount of opportunities going forward with nothing happening.
Atletico Madrid did everything in their power to hold back while they find little space to operate with them almost going close to making it 0-1 but it didn’t happen.
A moment of brilliance saw Antoine Greizmann who set up Renan Lodi who was able to finish off from his opportunity to make the scoreline 0-1 for the visiting side in the 41st minutes.
Nothing else happened as the first half of the encounter came to an end with Man United 0-1 Atletico Madrid as they both headed for the break with an advantage to the away side after 45 minutes.
Second Half Report
The second half was an evenly balanced one that saw so many opportunities coming through but nothing to make it count despite the number of chances.
Atletico Madrid carried on with their dominance going forward and putting up some solid defensive display which saw them holding things perfectly.
Man United was doing all in their power to come back in the game but it wasn’t happening for them as they got close on many occasions but nothing still to show for it all.
Jan Oblak did well as the match carried on with him putting up some spectacular saves which kept his side in the encounter as they approached the final few minutes left to be played.
The match ended with Man United crashing out of the Uefa Champions League after losing 0-1 against Atletico Madrid who finished off 1-2 on aggregate.
