English FA CONFIRM Decision On Chelsea Vs Palace Match (DETAILS)

The English FA has been in talks with the government concerning Chelsea ticket sales, MySportDab reports.

Following the Emirates FA Cup semi-final draws, there has been concern about ticket sales as Chelsea has been banned by the government to do any business transactions.

The football body has been in talks with the UK government concerning their decision which has been hit with some positive news.

The Blues can now expect to have full support at their FA Cup semi-final against fellow London side Crystal Palace at the Wembley Stadium.

Chelsea was hit with sanctions and ban following Roman Abramovich’s ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin who ordered an invasion of Ukraine.

This led to the club being unable to sell tickets for their quarterfinal game against Middlesbrough as only 700 fans were present.

Those were people who bought their tickets early before the club was hit with a ban by the UK government.

But an FA consul said English football’s governing body hopes to have sell-out crowds at both semi-finals between Chelsea Vs Crystal Palace.

Here Is What He Said:

“This includes tickets for Chelsea supporters for their match against Crystal Palace,” the spokesperson added.

“We are working with the government on a method to achieve this whilst respecting the sanctions that are currently in place on Chelsea.”

The Chairman of the Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport committee told the UK government earlier to amend a license that will see the club operate as normal.

Here Is What He Said:

“Chelsea is more than just its owner, it’s a living organism with huge importance to its fans and community,” Knight said.

“It was understandable that, at short notice, last week’s game against Middlesbrough went ahead without Chelsea fans.

“But with this much notice, the FA have no excuse for excluding them. The FA must be allowed to sell tickets to Chelsea fans so long as all money goes to the people of Ukraine.”

The match is expected to be filled with fans from both clubs who will be selling tickets despite the ban.
