Ifeoma Onumonu scored a brace as Super Falcons of Nigeria beat Ivory Coast Women 2-0 in AFCON qualifiers, MySportDab reports.

First Half Report

It was a good first half of the encounter for the Super Falcons who had everything under control as they went in the match without key players.

Ivory Coast Women held on fine in the early minutes of the encounter which saw them dealing with every pressure thrown at them by their opponent who were good.

Super Falcons of Nigeria scored the opening goal in the 21st minute which came through Gotham FC forward Ifeoma Onumonu who made sure her finishing was perfect to make the scoreline 1-0.

More coming from both countries as they carried on the remainder of the first half with so much coming from each other going forward but nothing change the scoreline which remained the same in favor of the home side.

The first half came to an end with Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast as they both headed inside for the break with all the advantage to the home side who were perfect after 45 minutes.

Second Half Report

The second half carried on the same it was in the first 45 minutes of the encounter which saw the home side controlling things going forward.

So much more coming as Nigeria continued to dominate things looking to make something happen which will mean putting the game to rest ahead of the second leg encounter.

Ivory Coast Women held on until another goal coming from Ifeoma Onumonu in the 56th minute after she lobbed the ball above the goalkeeper to make it 2-0 and a brace for the encounter.

This was how things played out as the game came to an end with Nigeria 2-0 Ivory Coast which gives the Super Falcons a massive advantage ahead of the second leg encounter coming up.
