Liverpool won the Carabao Cup via penalties against Chelsea 10-11 after 120 minutes without any goal, MySportDab reports.

First Half Report

Both teams gave a good account of themselves in the first half which saw opportunities created from both ends but nothing happened.

Chelsea did well enough in their own part as Christian Pulisic could have given them the lead but his opportunity was well saved by the goalkeeper point blank.

Things carried on with Liverpool also going close to scoring themselves with Sadio Mane, but Edouard Mendy did well enough to make a double save to keep the scoreline 1-1.

It wasn’t looking good for Trevoh Chalobah as the game carried on with the Reds using his position to hit the Blues on many occasions which almost led to a goal being scored.

The game carried on with the scoreline still 0-0 as they approached the final few minutes left to be played in the first half of the encounter.

They ended the first half with Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool as they both headed inside for the break with no side able to take the advantage after 45 minutes of football played.

Second Half Report

The second half kicked off with both teams picking off from where they left off in the first half which couldn’t see them make anything good happen.

Liverpool were equally in the match as they carried on almost scoring the lead but they were just unlucky to make anything happen going forward for them.

Chelsea conceded from a freekick which saw Matip scored but thanks to VAR it was reviewed and called for offside leaving things to remain goalless.

Nothing changes as they ended the second half with still Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool as they had to carry on into extra time with any goal happening.

Extra Time Report

Chelsea started well with Romelu Lukaku scoring a goal which unfortunately VAR had to review and canceled it for offside leaving the scoreline 0-0.

Chelsea Liverpool

Liverpool could have gone down but luckily Kai Havertz’s goal was another offside which ended things in the extra time goalless.

Penalty Report

It was another marathon for both teams but it ended with Liverpool winning the day 10-11 via penalties as Kepa Arrizabalaga lost his penalty to end their run giving the reds the Carabao Cup.
