Eden Hazard scored the winner as Real Madrid beat Elche 1-2 in the Copa del Rey after extra time, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
Both clubs kicked off the first half with so much pace going forward as they looked to book their ticket into the next round of the Copa De Rey.
Elche had so much work to do as in the early minutes of the encounter which saw their opponent dominating things while going forward.
Things were looking good for Real Madrid but they couldn’t make it count with so much opportunities being created by the players on the pitch who failed to capitalize on any of them as it carried on.
It was more boring as the match entered the last few minutes left which no goal was scored despite everything done from both ends to get a goal, it was all for nothing.
The first half of the encounter ended with Elche 0-0 Real Madrid as they both went inside for the break after a bad 45 minutes of football with a goal.
Second Half Report
The second half was more of the same like the first 45 minutes in which was a hard fought encounter failing to provide much action to the fans.
Real Madrid continued to push forward but looked very poor when they get close to scoring which always get swept away by their opponent before they reach the goalkeeper.
Elche gained control of the ball possession which saw them doing more of the playing against a side who have so much talent on the pitch causing so much trouble.
Nothing could separate them with the time hitting the 80 minutes mark leaving 10 remaining to be played as tempers were already flaring up with the scoreline still 0-0.
The match ended with Elche playing a 0-0 goalless draw against Real Madrid as they both headed inside getting set for extra time coming up.
Extra Time Report
The extra time started bad for Real Madrid who saw Marcelo being sent off in the 102nd minutes after a foul reducing them to 10-man.
Gonzalo Verdu gave Elche the lead in the 103rd after an amazing good work which saw them taking the advantage 1-0, but they couldn’t hold off their opponent as Isco made it 1-1 in the 108th.
Eden Hazard scored the winner in the 115th minute to make the scoreline 1-2 with the assist coming from David Alaba.
The match ended with Elche 1-2 Real Madrid as they moved on into the next round of the Copa de Rey competition.
