Mundo Deportivo reports reaching us claimed that Barcelona are stepping up their efforts to land Chelsea contract rebel Andreas Christensen.

The Danish defender is yet to commit to fresh terms at Stamford Bridge and will drop into the free agent pool this summer if no deal is done.

Those at Camp Nou eager to add him to their ranks as new manager Xavi Hernandez is on a rebuilding process which they are ready to strike a deal.

Barcelona are desperately looking to make sure things turn out good following their latest signing Ferran Torres from Manchester City.

They are also in the market to sign Manchester United forward Anthony Martial who is also keen on making a move elsewhere for regular playing time.

Barcelona also saw their request to sign Alvaro Morata who is Atletico Madrid player on loan with Juventus turned down despite them willing to pay his asking price.

For now Andreas Christensen seems to be their main target this January which could likely happen and be official when the season comes to an end.
