Xavi was presented as Barcelona’s new manager earlier this week and he has wasted no time to swing into action and make changes, resulting in Gerard Pique reportedly canceling a TV interview.

The former Barca player and club legend has vowed to enforce new rules in his attempt to bring back glory to the Camp Nou.

Xavi has reportedly laid down some rules in a bid to ensure discipline and concentration. Some of the rules are;

The use of mobile phones in the Sport city, dressing room and the team bus has been banned.

Each players will have a customized diet, exercise and gym training plans.

The use of social network on the eve of matchday and on matchday is prohibited.

Players are not allowed to leave home late within 48 hours of a match and there are limits to personal travels.

Players must shake hands with club staff upon arrival for training, group breakfast and lunch will be mandatory and risky sports will be prohibited.

Pique, a former team-mate of Xavi’s, looked to have fallen foul of one of these rules with his planned appearance on El Horminguero scrapped.

It is unclear whether Xavi’s new rules are the only reason behind the cancellation, but they must have played a significant part.

Xavi was announced as the club’s new head coach on Monday and took his first training session on Tuesday, during the international break.
