Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho scored as Man United claimed a 2-0 victory against Villarreal in the Uefa Champions League encounter, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
It was an interesting first-half encounter which saw both teams fighting hard against each other so much work doing defending and attacking.
Man United started the game with Bruno Fernandes starting from the bench as Donny van de Beek gets a place in the starting lineup as it progressed.
It was a solid display of defending from Villarreal who ensured their back was good enough to hold back any form of attack thrown by their opponent all through.
No goal was scored as they continued pushing and fighting with hopes of them taking the much needed lead which could have given either side the advantage they needed.
Nothing good could come out as the first half ended with Villarreal 0-0 Man United with both teams heading inside for the break without anything profitable.
Second Half Report
The second half started with both teams looking good as some early opportunities were created going forward, but none could result in anything good.
Villarreal continued to show the Premier League side why they are the second best team in Europe as the pressure was shifting away from the home team who turned things around.
It wasn’t looking comfortable for Man United who continued the game pushing more bodies forward in attempts to open the goal scoring which wasn’t an easy task doing.
The Premier League side became desperate as Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford came in the game with Anthony Martial and Donny van de Beek removed.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored a stunner from his right foot which beats the goalkeeper to give the Red Devils a 0-1 lead in the 78th minute of the encounter.
Jadon Sancho doubled the advantage in the 90th minute of the game after teaming up with Bruno Fernandes who provide the assist to make it 0-2.
The match ended with Villarreal 0-2 Man United which sees the red devils taking all three points to move top of the group.
