Thiago Alcantara and Mohamed Salah scored as Liverpool beat Porto 2-0 in the UEFA Champions League, MySportDab reports.

First Half Report

A good first half between the two teams who had so much to offer going forward in the tactical game.

Porto was solid in making sure their defending wasn’t that bad as the pressure was all on them against the English Premier League side.

It was looking all good for Liverpool who dominated things going forward while causing so much trouble for their opponent who dealt with them struggling.

Sadio Mane scored a goal in the 38th minute of the first half which was eventually ruled out by VAR after it was reviewed.

The first half didn’t provide any more talking points as it ended with Liverpool 0-0 Porto as they both headed inside for the break with a goalless scoreline.

Second Half Report

A good second half coming from both ends which saw more early opportunities coming from the two clubs who couldn’t make it count.

Liverpool still continued with their dominance as they created clear caught opportunities but finishing off was their only problem as they carried on with the match.

Thiago Alcantara scored the opening goal in the 52nd minute of the second half after reacting first to a loose ball which saw him smash one past the goalkeeper to make it 1-0.

Porto held their ground despite already conceding one goal which came as an error from defending as they looked to correct their mistake by leveling things.

Liverpool Porto

The visiting side failed to deal with their defense as Mohamed Salah increased the lead to 2-0 in the 70th minute with the assist coming from Jordan Henderson.

That goal was the last as the game ended with Liverpool taking a 2-0 win against Porto in the Uefa Champions League group stages.
