Barcelona are confidence of extending Gavi contract despite Chelsea making their interest known, MySportDab reports.

The youngster has been exceptional with Barcelona and representing Spain which has seen top clubs looking to sign him.

The Laliga side are currently doing everything to extend his contract with the club so to push away suitors who are looking to sign him.

 

Chelsea are said the be the side who are strongly linked with a move for the youngster, but it won’t be looking possible.

Talks between Barcelona and Gavi representatives are currently going on and progressing with them looking to reach an agreement.

“Barcelona are not worried by Chelsea rumours for Gavi, as things stand now.

“Talks are progressing in the last weeks in order to complete the contract extension soon.

“Barça board proposal is on the table for 5 years contract – negotiations ongoing with Gavi’.

The player was instrumental for Spain national team who qualified for next year FIFA World Cup in their last game against Sweden.

His presence on the pitch did so much damage until they scored the goal which gave them their ticket to Qatar 2022.

The youngster current contract will come to an end in the summer of 2023 which he will be able to leave as a free agent.

Barcelona are not looking to allow that happen as they are making preparations to extend his contract which will see him stay for a long time.

A five years deal will see him get tied down until 2028 which will keep him off the market for a while as the new deal will come in place.
